hello everyone,

with 2010 just around the corner and before we know it, we'll be seeing eachother in Dison, Belgium for the first race of the series. I'm being pretty busy during the holidays to try and be prepared for this action-packed weekend.
My preparations consist out of:
2 complete Audi R10's, RTR, one mounted on the trusted Julia chassis (pictured below, in the middle and on the left), the other on a new experimental chassis of mine, which we'll call the 'Kim' chassis (the one on the right) for now :kissing: (yes a new girl's name :rolling: )

One of the two Audi bodies has been painted, the second one laminated.

In addition, I'm making ACR (Andre Linberg, Ralph Seif and Sven Manti) two fully painted and decalled bodies, so they'll just need to install the lights. This livery is a NIGHTMARE to mask!! took me 8 hours in total: and then to think I have to do this... twice:

But the endresult was rather pleasing:

Last but not least, my Penske Porsche has been leased to the dutch Weamteam, so that one will get a good once-over aswell:

Here's a setup tip after the race we did in Dison last week:
The braid is rather deep in Dison, we had our guide setup so that the underside of the guide touches the techblock when there aren't any braids in the guide, and the wheels are simply standing on the plate.

That was all for now, let me see what you all got so far and post it here! :autofahrer[1]:

Nick,

It is all looking very good mate.

I think I'll put my name on one of those Audi R10's of yours - after the race, let me know.

Cheers

Now that I've delivered the Lola's to another happy costumer, I can focus on my own car again.
I've recently 'built' a new toy, just out of curiosity.

Four exact scaled mounted square, to measure wheelpressures front-rear and left-right

This is the rear, with a difference I more or less expected to find:

But now look at this, the front (which I was just done finetuning and thought was perfect!! :BangHead: )

With the body on it's even more confusing

Very interesting.. I like to think I build rather clean and technically well built chassis, so I'm rather amused by my ignorance :hey:

Nick,

That is very confusing - perhaps a twist in the body mounting, try it without 'fitting' the body............:beer::popcorn::beer:

Don't stop - we are all waiting to see the outcome.:nice:

Cheers,

Jan

Hi Nick,

very nice.

I have made exactly the same experience with my "balance board".

http://slotplatz.de/wp-content/gallery/nextgen/s7/BB1.jpg

http://slotplatz.de/wp-content/gallery/nextgen/s7/BB2.jpg

At first i started exactly the way you did using four digital scales.

The first thing i noteced with using the scales that the specific wheel pressure is varying when you move the car even slightly. So, if the you move the car for, lets say a millimetre, it would make a couple of grams on the scale.

So, i came to the conclusion that i should try a different thing. Thatīs why i started using the balance board.

With this i made only positive experience. It is fairly easy to balance the chassis from left to right. Surely not from front to back. But i think, that it is more important to start your setup work with a perfect left/right balance. Front/Back balance can easily be tested at the track...

Greetz,
Sascha

Ok, they still both need a steeringwheel, but here are Andre's Lola interior and my Audi's..

But you have forgotten the safety belts, will add at least 0.07 more grams to each interior :p8712443: :cry (2):
