Where is the logic in scales ?

Why are we racing 1/24 scale cars - it should be logical to race 1/1 - 1/75 - 1/50 and 1/25.

But the scales we are racing are 1/1 - 1/84 - 1/43 - 1/32 - 1/24.

Where is the logic ?:confused:

Guess it has something to with the non-metric way of thinking in UK and USA.

Please note I'm very pleased with 1/24 and 1/32 - but it seems not logic

Good question Gorm, I've also been curious about that.

Maybe the 1:24 comes from scaling 1 inch to the Foot (12 inches) in imperial, then half scaling that to 1:24?? :icon_confused:

Similar thing with military models, why are they 1:35?
