Hello everyone!
Here are some notes for the 2012 OEPS season.
First of all, yes, there will be an OEPS 2012! The series is a lot of fun, each race features new cars and ideas, and the many new teams give the series a fresh side every time again.
Next year there will be a new crew in the organisation. Lars Harrysson is moving to Australia, and Fola, Rolf and Borge have announced that after 2 stressfull years, they are withdrawing from the organistation. On that note, another big thanks for all you have done!
A new webpage is being constructed, on which you’ll find updates and news about once per every 1 or 2 weeks.
For the OEPS 2012 we unfortunately have to look for another motor, despite the great results in Trier last year. The motors all stayed in one piece and were great fun to drive, but unfortunately the motors are no longer made.
Motorhandout and the 2 motortests will remain unchanged.
In light of the new saison there will be a homologationlist for the bodies. Most of the bodies are really pretty and to scale, and the homologationlist will be aimed at protecting the OEPS for fantasybodies.
Fortunately there was only 1 fantasybody at the start last year, so the homologationlist will have no effect to almost all the existing teams.
The handout tyres will be touched very lightly to make sure they are perfectly round and balanced.
The technical rules will remain unchanged. The minimum bodyweight rule might be abandoned since it’s easily to go round it with the so-called ‘double bodyholders’. But this is not determent yet.
Next year there will be much more checkpoints on the cars to make sure they meet the rules. Before, during and after the race but also unannounced, during lane changes, it could be that cars are being checked for weight and other things.
There will be no scheduled practise anymore. Each team will get a card which they have to put in line if they want to practise. If you are driving, you also have to have a marschall present at the track.
For the dates we’re looking at mid april, early September and mid November. Swisstal and Trier are most likely again our hosts, and the 3rd race just might be taking place in.. my city, Amsterdam.
Entry fees will be going down. The former number was based on the expensive proslot motor. Now that we’ll be using more normal priced motors, the fees will be adjusted accordingly.
Registrations.
When we’re ready, we’ll be having 1 week for all the teams that have raced last year, to pick the same car they raced the previous year. After that, all is free and it’s first come first serve.
A model and livery is chosen for the entire season. Changing a model or livery during the season will result in starting from 0 points.
Those were many of the pointers for next year. Everything that remains open, will be communicated as soon as possible through the website. Of course the link to that will be posted then aswell.
I’m looking forward to next year. I know from many teams that have new ideas for their chassis, and who are looking forward of picking their favourite car.
I will give it my utmost best to bring together a beautifull, noumerous, friendly and international starting grid.
See you soon!
