so, having cars run on it makes sure the cut is smooth and no guides will 'bite' into the sides?

Helps to smoth out the slots, and decrease guide wear and possible breakage...

Yes- running cars on the track actually works to smooth the slot and wing cars actually pull dust and debris away from the track.
To a lesser degree- we found that running the cars helps align and polish the contact braid. No amount of vacuuming can replace running cars on the track for making it race-ready. Roger is such a good guy that he runs his cars to prepare the track rather than have the wear and tear on customer cars. |
